| What Is an Affiliate Program? |

Pioneered by Amazon.com in 1996, "affiliate programs" are a simple way for Web sites and email list* owners to generate revenue by directing traffic toward other sites. Because affiliate programs are so convenient and work so well, they have become the industry's dominant method by which Web sites compensate one-another for referring customers.
It works as follows: You fill out a quick and easy online form to instantly and automatically become a myGoals.com affiliate. We'll then provide you with HTML links that you can embed anywhere in your site or newsletter. You can point people to either our homepage, our goal-setting tips, or any premade Goalplan accessible from the public (non-logged-in) portion of our site.
The HTML link will contain your unique affiliate tracking code, which allows us to track whenever a visitor comes to our site through the link you've provided. You then get paid for referrals who go on to become paying myGoals.com subscribers (subject to certain restrictions; see program details).
All tracking is conducted through an independent, third party who makes online reports available 24 hours a day so you can manage your links and see how much money you're making.
The link that you provide to us may take on any form you like:
- A text link in the body of your content (such as an article you write)
- A text link in a list of sites that you recommend
- A graphic that we provide (we provide lots for you to choose from)
- A graphic that you create yourself
- etc.
